McEnany can't say why there's FBI building money in the coronavirus stimulus bill

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany was pressed Wednesday on why a coronavirus stimulus bill includes $1.75 billion for a new FBI building.

"So, this was part of the President's priority of updating the FBI building, keeping it in DC, and it's been one of the things that's been mentioned that's in this bill and it's a part of one of the President's priorities and it's been a priority for several months," she said during an appearance on CBS News.

Asked again what that provision was doing in the coronavirus bill, McEnany couldn't say, but said it is "not a dealbreaker."

President Donald Trump said later Wednesday that a new FBI building has been in the works "for many years," and he thought it was "crazy" that they would consider moving it to the suburbs of Virginia or Maryland.

Never mind the money you'll make on it Donny boy.

to occupy the Old Post Office to be terminated for cause, and the FBI building site to be moved out of DC. Trump loses, again.

Nobody know how that appropriation got into the bill. McConnell said the White House insisted on it or Trump wouldn't sign it. Today, McEnany concedes that yeah, maybe the president wanted that in there, but it's "not a dealbreaker." Which is not what McConnell said yesterday. But now that it's in the bill, it must stay in there even though nobody really wants it. The Senate Majority Leader and the President are powerless to do anything about it, utterly impotent.
