Thank you for letting our office know Louie tested positive for the Coronavirus. When you write your story, can you include the fact that Louie requires full staff to be in the office, including three interns, so that we could be an example to America on how to open up safely. When probing the office, you might want to ask how often were people berated for wearing masks.Link to tweet

he's been sending massive amounts of reproductive energy to the left side of his brain where satisfaction comes from greed and certainty and the only time he can find satisfaction is by creating enough emotion in he or his target that it finally awakens his underused and starved emotional right brain so those pleasure centers can finally be activated. he also gets pleasure similarly because creating certainty requires creativity to rationalize - thereby releasing that reproductive energy, finally, to get to the pleasure centers. how do you rationalize "i am the king", without creativity. that's when the gates to the creative side open and that trapped isolated reproductive energy gets to the pleasure centers. so it feels good to lie and hurt people.

AZ8theist
(5,406 posts)It WAS NOT sarcasm.
Have you ever spoken to Reich Wing staffers? Most of them are just as ASSHOLISH as their bosses. Granted, the one who wrote that email seems to be a cry for help, but here in AZ5, with Fascist Caucus principal Andy Biggs, the staffers are as bad as their boss.
Remember when Paul Ryan made all of his staff read Ayn Rand? Yes, the staff drinks the cool aid just as much. Pathetic.

I don't think he "feels" for the staffers at all. And I am pretty sure he doesn't think Gohmert is "normally so responsible".

(7,804 posts)so a staff that more than likely is infected will go to the office and possibly infect other people bc that idiot wants to be a how-to for opening up safely..right? and btw their boss said he got the virus from wearing a mask...

has not been a secret what he is like, yet you chose him. I have no sympathy to spare for your willingness to embrace the dark side. My sympathies are for the hundreds of thousands dead, or dying, from the insanity of trumpism.
Instead of whining by tweet, they could show some brains & gumption and wear the mask at work.
Apparently they're good with the overall toxicity of the office, but being ridiculed for wearing a mask, and removing it because they couldn't take it, is a bridge too far?
Boo hoo.

(6,144 posts)Jake Sherman's got that one right.
It only takes one idiot to spread the virus to many people. But, in the Capitol we have hundreds of idiots who are busy spreading the virus to perhaps thousands of people.
And, of course, these people live all over the nation. So, when they leave Washington they can carry the virus back to their hometowns and sow more seeds of the covid fruit in their back yards.
It's the latency of the virus that is the big problem. It can take a couple weeks for symptoms to show up, and, even when tested, there can be several days before the results come back.
This is a perfect example of a superspreader event that never ends...as long as our Congressmen and women fail to take the pandemic seriously.
Louis Gohmert is a perfect example. Unfortunately, one of many.

(43,064 posts)The district was predominantly rural for much of its history, and thus was far friendlier to electing Democrats to Congress even as most of Texas swung toward the Republicans. The district's four-term Democratic incumbent, Max Sandlin, was a particularly severe critic of the DeLay-led redistricting effort, claiming that lumping rural areas with urban ones stifled the voice of rural voters. Indeed, the 2003 redistricting made the district more urban and Republican, especially with the addition of the Republican strongholds of Tyler and Longview. Sandlin was heavily defeated in November 2004 by Republican Louie Gohmert, a longtime judge in the Tyler area. Gohmert is the first Republican to represent the district since Reconstruction. Proving just how Republican the reconfigured 1st is, Gohmert has been reelected seven times with no less than 68 percent of the vote (and faced only token opposition in 2010 and 2012).
It will be interesting to find out how many people were infected by Gohmert, his staff members, and everybody they came into contact with. Talk about stupid and irresponsible. And if his staff truly only found out about it from the news... well, that is truly despicable.
