@JakeSherman
Ever since PM came out, Ive gotten a flood of emails from republican staffers who say they too are being forced to come to the hill without a mask now.
If youre one of those people, email me or dm me.

(2,595 posts)mask than those who do not have the virus. Donning a mask by those who carry can reduce transmission by 95%. Wearing a mask by those without the virus may only be 30% effective.
I do not know why we do not own this narrative. It is not about freedom. It is about respect for your fellow countrymen.

(65,136 posts)...for negligence?
I get that they're not regulated by government entities regarding workplace conditions.
I read the Propublica piece and I don't see how they would be shielded from a lawsuit for negligence regarding health & safety in the workplace.
Remember, one of the motivations behind OSHA was to prevent every poor working condition wouldn't be litigated and tie up the courts.
Administrative law, with teeth, was put in place so every safety violation wasn't a court battle.
So, couldn't ex-staffers sue over this?

(30,613 posts)because of Sovereign Immunity in the 11 Amendment, which been extended to members of congress. Congress is immune from suits at law when acting within their official functions. They are also immune from suits seeking damages for slander if they are testifying before a senate hearing.

(65,136 posts)Forgot about that. Does that cover chiefs of staff, or just the elected official?
I'm thinking a "joint & several" view of a civil case.

(10,911 posts)... The directive from the White House management office was laid out in a memo to staffers Monday afternoon, NBC reported. ... The memo also asked staff members to avoid visiting the West Wing, where the Oval Office is located, unless it is necessary, the sources told NBC.
Something to keep in mind when some fuckhead harasses you about wearing a mask -- if they're so ineffective or the Covid19 is just a hoax, or if only wimps wear them, then why does your fearless leader require everyone near him to wear a mask? Why is he wimpifying his staff -- and by extension -- himself?
