If you are cheering on Donald Trump's tweet that people living in suburbs won't have to be bothered by the poors anymore in any way, then yes, you are an elitist.

You can spin it any way you want... call it "I care about my property value" until your face turns blue, point is, you don't want "those people" in your sight and in your mind.

It's elitism at the rawest.

1. Its flat out racist as hell, I wouldn't conflate that to elitist one-to-one though...

I could obviously be misinterpreting here, but I always hear their shots at "elites" as veiled jabs at education and people who have earned higher education degrees or academic honors and awards.

The majority of the "base" consists of mouth breathing idiots who are very sensitive to their own ignorance and stupidity...so the easy thing to do to score points with these evolutionary laggards was to cast dispersions on anyone with an IQ above room temperature or intellectual curiosity of any kind.

Trump's bullshit today is playing straight to the racism inherent in many of these same people from the "base". Their defining characteristics are a hyper-sensitive outrage meter for perceived (or actual) sleights related to intelligence or social status, followed very closely by a burning need for affirmation that they are not racists, they just worry about "crime" or they are not racists, they are worried about "losing their culture", etc.

Whether it is elitist or racist, Trump is pounding away like Animal from the Muppets on the race baiting and social warrior grievance drums because he has literally nothing else now...

If "You don't have to be bothered by 'those people' (Those poorer and darker) anymore" isn't something you'd see an "elite" saying, then I don't know what is.
