.@jefpollock knows of what he speaks - Trump is running what he thinks is a playbook from a specific place (NYC) during a specific time (late 80s to late 90s) when the city's first/only black mayor, David Dinkins, lost to Giuliani.

Trump has lost support in upscale suburbs. Republicans experienced defections in 2018. So it seems logical to tie democrats to invading lower income “thugs.”

Will that work?
