Trump's New Favorite Doctor Stella Immanuel Was Sued for Medical Malpractice in 2019

https://www.thedailybeast.com/trumps-new-favorite-doctor-stella-immanuel-was-sued-for-medical-malpractice-in-2019

Dr. Stella Immanuel was sued for malpractice in Louisiana following the death of a woman in her care last year, according to The Houston Chronicle. Immanuel has attracted national attention of late, including praise from President Donald Trump, for claiming without evidence in a viral video to have cured hundreds of COVID-19 patients with hydroxychloroquine, which the Food and Drug Administration has said is an ineffective remedy, and putting forward the idea that masks do not slow the spread of the coronavirus. In the past, she has also said that demons having sex with sleeping women are the cause of cysts and endometriosis. The mother of one of Immanuel’s patients, Leslie Norvell, alleged last year that the doctor ignored her daughter’s complaints that a meth needle had broken off in her arm. Immanuel allegedly prescribed Norvell medication but did not order an x-ray or further tests, and Norvell later died of a flesh-eating infection, despite another physician opting to remove the needle. Louisiana authorities were reportedly never able to serve Immanuel with the suit because she moved to Houston in between treating Norvell and the filing of the lawsuit.

Long Arm statute? She can’t avoid service by leaving the state. Most statutes allow service on the Secretary of State, and the certified mail to the defendant out of state.

Moving from one state to another does not prevent the serving of lawsuits. So that part of the story is bogus. Most doctors get sued for malpractice. It is why mal insurance is sky high.

That is one of the items that is being slipped into the bill along with not moving the FBI bldg so tRump can continue to profit off of the location (near his DC hotel).

Hospitals get protection from malpractice lawsuits

Coronavirus-related liability protections were a top priority for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell as well as hospitals. The bill would broadly shield hospitals and medical professionals from malpractice lawsuits around Covid-19, while capping damages. Hospital groups say legal risks have been a major barrier to resuming elective surgeries.

They won't open these reports to the public, but they contain not only verifications of physician training, but also any liability issues, past, present, pending, dismissed and paid, along with any sanctions and dismissals from hospitals.

The NPDB was one of the most critical documents I used for reviewing physician's fitness for initial and re-credentialing with our health plan. And the scariest. Which is probably why they won't open them to the public.
