Gohmert blames mask for positive COVID-19 test

from the hill: https://thehill.com/homenews/coronavirus-report/509602-gohmert-blames-mask-for-positive-covid-19-test

"Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) is questioning whether his positive coronavirus test could have been linked to his face mask.

Gohmert, one of several House Republicans who have been notable in not wearing masks at the Capitol, told KETK-TV, a Fox News affiliate, that he'd been wearing a mask more frequently.

“It's really ironic, because, you know, a lot of people have made a big deal out of me not wearing a mask a lot, but in the last week or two. I have worn a mask, more than I have in the whole last four months," he said.

He then questioned whether that could have led to his positive test.

“But I can't help but wonder if my keeping a mask on and keeping it in place, that if I might have put some germs or some of the virus onto the mask and breathed it in — I don't know. But I got it, we'll see what happens from here, but the reports of my demise are very premature," he said."

6. I just listened to Lawrence O'Donnell discussing Gohmert's illness with Pramila Jayapal

And she said that, especially after his diagnosis, she told someone she encountered in Congress today to wear a mask - and was told to "shut up!"

GOP Opposition To Masks ‘Unconscionable, Incomprehensible And Outrageous’ | The Last Word | MSNBC

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) tells Lawrence O'Donnell that Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) testing positive for coronavirus after refusing to wear a mask shows the "absolute lack of concern and outright cruelty" for members of Congress and puts their staff at greater risk of contracting COVID-19. Aired on 7/29/2020.

They are delusional, all semblance of clear objective truth and rational, reality-grounded thought has been scientifically washed away over the past 50 (and especially the last 30) years.

Montini: Vote for Debbie Lesko or you're a 'parasite'

https://eu.azcentral.com/story/opinion/op-ed/ej-montini/2018/04/23/montini-vote-debbie-lesko-youre-parasite/544786002/

So, there is Rep. David Schweikert at an event for Republican congressional candidate Debbie Lesko calling Lesko's competition, the good men and women of Congressional District 8 who do not support Lesko "the parasite class."

Republicans have been dumping tons of money into Lesko's campaign to avoid the embarrassment of having Democrat Hiral Tipirneni come in even a close second to Lesko, who is running in a district carried by more than 20 points by President Donald Trump.

When in doubt -- money and slurs

However, Democrats (and the moderate Republicans who apparently back them) haven't conceded the race, so Republicans and trying to burying them in cash.

And in slurs.

Thanks to politicians like Schweikert.

This shouldn't surprise us. Schweikert once compared unions to Nazis. His office called the cops on constituents who appeared at his office bearing ... cookies. He voted against the aid package for hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico.

That guy.

And there is he calling the opposition to Lesko parasites, and there Lesko is nodding and smiling.

Schweikert says of the race between Lesko and Tipirneni, "If you understand what’s goes on when this is the only political game in the country it’s also used to build lists, raise money, radicalize your base. So sometimes you see these things go out and they’re just crazy. In many ways it’s not actually about this community, this district. It’s a group from the other side of the country trying to get a bunch of people to give them $25 dollars so they build a bigger list for the next election. They basically are the parasite class using our community for their radical politics. We need to crush them.

Crush them?

But if Lesko wins doesn't she swear to represent them?

Will Lesko represent the 'parasites?"

This is the same Lesko who has kissed up the outgoing House Speaker Paul Ryan, who wants to cut Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security to make up for the billions in tax cuts the Republican Congress just gave the super rich.

Not long ago, Lesko scampered away from a man with ALS who was pointing out the hypocrisy of her position.

Now she's sucking up to a politician who calls those in the political opposition "the parasite class."

Some people might call that ... deplorable.

15. Oh, my goodness! Where do they find these people and who votes for them??

I watch some of these obviously mentally challenged people (like Gohmert) and try to imagine them running for office, let alone inspiring anyone to support them! It truly does boggle the mind!

But then we are having the same issue right here in my congressional district, so I'm surrounded by it. For reasons that continue to baffle me, my district continues to reelect Elise Stefanik! Ever since she took office, protesters follow her everywhere - to the point that she refuses to publicize her schedule head of time so she can avoid them! And for the last election, there were 10 Democrats who stepped up and ran in the primary - and one other Republican! Yet the last time I went out, I saw Stefanik campaign signs - so she still has support somewhere.

If he had placed some germs (no such thing) or virus onto the mask then he already had the disease.

Sometimes around his neck. Sometimes with his nose either completely exposed or almost exposed. Even if worn all the time and properly, flimsy bandana thing likely does not to offer that much protection to either the wearer or others, as it not forming any sort of seal to the face. Let alone if worn around the neck or with nose hanging out.
