Everyone is busy - I get that. It just feels like life and time are getting away from me. And the Governor has clamped down on gatherings (justifiably so) which means I'm seeing no end to this self-isolation, any time soon. Worse yet, I think I'm getting on Sophie Stinky Toes nerves.
So, it's time for a wine and blueberry run to Aldi. One has nothing to do with the other. The blueberries are for scones and the wine is for, well, let's just call it my 'afternoon tipple'.

(4,440 posts)I just hooked up the trailer and we're taking the kayaks to a nearby state-park. Get there early and get the boats in the water when there's no one around.

(15,805 posts)I don't drive so I'm lucky to have family who will deliver things I need and PU my groceries from Wal-Mart. I see them once or twice a month. I miss fast food, beer and pizzas and take out menus, but I'm too far from town to get grub delivered. I'd like to have a sit down meal with my family. I even miss the ornery kinfolk mired down in their Trumpian bitterness.
I do telephone appointments with my doctor, fortunately my chronic medical problems have been fairly calm thus far. Rd meds are in the mail. So far, so good.
Compared to the alternative, it's tolerable. It's somewhat like being marooned on a desert island or doing a stint on a space station. I'm actually surprised at myself that I'm getting along so well and not having mental issues with the isolation.
Stay safe everyone, stay vigilant and don't get lax, this killer virus isn't through with us by a longshot yet.

(26,260 posts)But I am still VERY cautious and pretty much limiting any outings to necessary runs to the store. One of my neighbors was driving by, yesterday, when I was working in the yard, and he stopped his car so we could have a conversation. It was the highlight of my day. Well, make that my WEEK.
I have had my really low points but as long as I'm still breathing easy, I can make it through them. I just have to remind myself of what my brother when through when he had Covid-19. He didn't have to be hospitalized, but it was awful, for him. That was back in March and he seems to be fully recovered.

(26,260 posts)My only non essential outings, since then, have been to the cemetery on Memorial day, a quick drive to a very special doughnut shop, in Flint, that supports our Carriage Town section of the city (seriously wonderful doughnuts). and one trip to the Flint Farmer's Market. One thing I've noticed is, even before the mask mandate, most people are wearing them.
I've been cutting my own hair, and I just let the color and wave go 'natural'. I was surprised at how much my hair resembles my Dad's, both in color and texture, although mine is MUCH more abundant. I actually found that kind of comforting.
And now I have blueberries and wine, and a few other things to put into my precautionary stockpile pantry.
