ICE Agents Complain About Nazi Comparisons, Say They're Only Enforcing the Laws

In the new series, previewed ahead of its release by Newsweek, ICE agents speak candidly about their orders to ramp up arrests of undocumented immigrants, with one scene showing an agency supervisor in New York ordering an agent to bring in more "collaterals"—undocumented immigrants identified during a targeted arrest—whatever it takes.

"Start taking collaterals man," an ICE supervisor can be heard saying. "I don't care what you do, but bring at least two people in."

"We constantly look like we're the bad guys, when all we're doing is enforcing the laws and doing our job," the agent says.

"It gets to me sometimes, it does," she says. "Cause, I just feel like, you know, we have no respect."

That's why law enforcement swears an oath to the constitution and are counseled not to obey an unlawful order.

One of the ex-justice department guys on MSNBC made a direct plea to these agents as he told them to all get lawyers because he knows what's coming.

it's they way the enforcement is being done. They're very well aware of it. This pretense of innocence, the "what? what did we do?" facade is insulting.

Articles like these underscore the point that they all know very well who and what they are and are even proud of it; they just don't like being called out on it. If there are some in ICE who don't like being lumped in with Bortac, tough. They're yours, ICE. You own them and their actions.

14. I am in favor of disbanding ICE. That's one reason why I supported Bernie during the

primary season because I felt he was the candidate most likely to do just that. But of course Joe's immigration policy, whatever the details, will be infinitely better than Trump's outrages.

But having said that, I think we need to be careful about using the Nazi word. The Nazis were pure evil and there is very little that can be legitimately compared to Nazism. I know that in the past some Jewish organizations have objected to the overuse of the word on the theory that the Nazis were so evil that almost nothing can compare to them.
