She also lost her brother and Elijah Cummings - or as she called him, "our precious Elijah" - in the last year. This must be very difficult for her

I am very proud to belong to the party of John Lewis, and of Nancy Pelosi.

"Speaker" Such a fitting title for her. I choked back tears more than a couple of times.

Seriously John Lewis died as he lived - the timing of his death was perfect.
We need the Constitution to come alive...this is brilliant. We will not be quiet...damn this is good!

Mr. Lewis was very close to his staff and his chief of staff was more like a son to him. So dedicated and always by his side. This is a terrible loss for them. It was very gracious of the Speaker to acknowledge them.
