(30,613 posts)That procedure tends to give low population states a pass, even if their infection rates are horrible. Naturally, such states tend to be red states. Total coincidence, I'm sure.

(16,695 posts)Anything that involves numbers, math, graphs, or data in general is rarely covered well by any of the generic media. You have to get to journals in specific disciplines to get any real insight.

(6,634 posts)Example, neither Dallas County or Harris County have case/death numbers in the Top 25 in Texas among counties. This trend is increasing as rural counties have not come to grips with reducing spread. The TOPOS website is very good at showing this

I personally think that people should be looking a LOT harder at cases or deaths per million, not just the raw numbers.
