NBA has made an unmistakable statement of support in favor of Black Lives Matter and apparently a lot of white folk on twitter "will never watch basketball again". Funny there's also a bunch of bots that appear to be from black authors supporting the same complaint. Its pretty wild on twitter tonite
I'm a "white folk" and I've never understood how you could not support the BLM movement if you liked basketball (or for that matter football or baseball)
We need a hashtag perhaps #GoWatchHockey

(6,474 posts)although the student athletes feel the same way they unfortunately feel much more intimidated by BigRichAlum that run all college football and basketball programs. BigRichAlum have much greater leverage over the average student athlete. BigRichAlum goes ballistic when even the few minority members of the Band kneel during National Anthem. In the NBA the players who are millionaires can't be controlled like the student athletes

(13,869 posts)Wouldnt make sense to be racist and watch a game where 90% of the stars and icons are black.
And half of the white guys are from foreign countries that arent WASP.
A recent Morning Consult poll showed a large majority of NBA fans supported BLM.
The least support of course was NASCAR, and most sports coincided with the socio-economic status of their fans, so for example tennis was pretty good while baseball had a minority who supported BLM.
