I can now say with all honesty, but not with ease, that I hate Donald J. Trump.
He's an enemy of the United States, along with his administration, and his voter base.
They can all eat shit, and suffer the consequences.

(38,187 posts)that the Republicans will find something even worse next time around. They keep finding worse and worse.
We literally had a hog farmer with a cigarello and assault rifle, dressed as Boss Hogg, running in NC AFTER the Republicans got caught stealing Absentee ballots and not counting them. The NC Courts decided to slap them on the wrist, then turn around and let the Republicans have a second election with all new candidates to reward them. The GOP was REWARDED for stealing ballots and the courts let them change horses mid-race. One of the people they ran was that fucked up guy. It was disgusting. Still is. It was in my district. That hits home when it is your district in your state.
They can find worse, oddly enough, and have, and have run them, and probably can find worse than that. I have a feeling they will continue to lower the bar and do JUST THAT too. I would not put it past them to get someone wearing a sheet or someone with full Nazi insignia to run next, yes, at the national level. We got Trump, didn't we? Never put anything past the Republicans when it comes to participation in hate groups and how low they will lower the bar to find someone worse than the last horrid one they found.

(38,187 posts)What is sad is that in my lifetime, we have had 3 Democrats and 6 Republicans as president. I don't remember much of my early life, but I have hated all Republican presidents since I was old enough to understand politics existed. So, at least since Reagan, I have hated them all.
I do have a very special level of hatred for Trump though, because the fucker just pulled up a seat in our government for the fucking KKK, then turned around and declared anti-fascists, "terrorists." As many people, including little girls, (I HIGHLY recommend the movie, 4 Little Girls for anyone who wants to know the history there and doesn't already), that the KKK has lynched, bombed, and maimed, Trump decides being against fascism makes a person a "terrorist," while calling the KKK and the Nazis, "very fine people." We should ALL DESPISE him for that alone.
Then there is ALL of the other horrid crap he has done.

(12,803 posts)He used the national tragedy of 9/11 and the political capital he got from it to launch a disastrous war of choice based on a campaign of lies.
He manipulated the grief, anger, fear, and patriotism of the American people to pursue a preexisting neocon agenda which has left the region in chaos, killed upwards of a million human beings, drained our treasury, needlessly sacrificed the lives of 5,000 Americans in uniform, and left tens of thousands more wounded for life mentally and physically.
It was the most egregious betrayal of trust by an American president in our nation's history.
GW Bush is a war criminal. He belongs in prison, but contunues to live a life of wealth and privilege.
Every time he is given a platform as an elder statesman or his administration is wistfully remembered as a time of normalcy, it makes me want to

(21,921 posts)When I was born, Eisenhower was president. Since then, he was the only Republican worthy of the position.
Nixon was a criminal and a danger. I hated him passionately and couldn't wait to cast my first presidential vote for Jimmy Carter. The day Nixon resigned was a very happy one for me.
Reagan was a disgusting person who hid all of his evilness and stupidity behind an amiable facade that was a mere millimeter thick. He ignored the emergence of HIV/AIDS and countless Americans died, (sound familiar?). Once he was gone, we discovered that he had Alzheimer's. Was anyone really surprised?
Regarding G.H.W. Bush, I have only two words: Lee Atwater. Together, they further divided our country by race and economic class.
W. was just a moron but he was surrounded by truly terrible people beginning with Cheney. They were very methodical in their machinations to continue the flow of money to the upper .1% and then, after 8 years and on their way out, they drove the economy into the ditch. Oh, anyone remember 9/11?
Now we have Trump. I hate him the most but I realize that my capacity to hate has increased since the 1970s. With each successive Republican, I'm more disgusted by that party and the people who support such awful politicians.

Trump does nothing that will ever turn out good forvthe country.

(25,896 posts)I used to think Gerald Ford was fairly inoffensive, but given the price we've paid as a nation since the pardon... sigh. The only Repub president close to living memory that I have any real respect for is Eisenhower. From Reagan onward, all of them have evoked an increasing visceral negative response.
