Uh-oh. 😲 Guess what ABC/Ipsos asked about in their poll. ⚡️

This is a pretty big deal. ABC/Ipsos asked about Russia in a poll. Not only did it not go well, the fact that Russia is even being asked about is not good for him.
“Russia” could mean a lot of things to a lot of people and we don’t know HOW it was asked about. But still.

730 adults. Random. English and Spanish. MOE 4.0.

Independents trace the country's attitudes, with his approval falling between 30% to 33% and his disapproval landing between 66% and 69% on COVID-19, the demonstrations and his approach to Russia. About half of Trump's base -- white, non-college educated Americans -- approve of his leadership on the outbreak (50%), the protests (51%) and Russia (51%).

—-last two paragraphs of the article —-

His disapproval on his handling of relations with Russia, in particular, comes at a precarious time for the president, who has dismissed U.S. intelligence that indicates Russia paid the Taliban to kill American troops in Afghanistan.

Trump, in an interview with Axios earlier this week, said he "never discussed" the matter in a July 23 phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and when pressed on why he didn't raise it, he said, "That was a phone call to discuss other things and frankly that's an issue that many people said was fake news."

Suddenly the Republican numbers aren't quite so depressing.

It would normally be around 96% (based on their approval of everything else he does).

Look I grew up with the big mean Soviets being the baddest of the bad guys. They were bad. The Russians are too. You can’t get rid of what we absorbed all those years.

They're all represented as evenly proportioned in that graph. So, that tall 80% should really be a third the height, because it's maybe 20% of the population: 80% of 25%.

but if only 80% of 30% approve, that is still a very small number. I wonder what VFW has to say about this.

These are irretractable crazy people that inhabit our country.

who are still registered as Democrats but have not voted for a Democrat in years. Others are Republicans who like to say they are Democrats in order to mess up the poll stats.

Do you agree or disagree that Trump an agent of Russia?

Do you agree or disagree that it is acceptable for Russians to pay Taliban terrorists to kill American troops?

And on and on and on.

BTW, have to agree with others that that 80% figure continues to amaze. What will faze these cultists?

Santa. If you have kids or you know people who do, you see the whole thing being repeated. It’s wholesome sure but it’s a lie as well. The difference is that their cult will never realize or admit that they were duped.

The snake oil salesmen comparison works too.

Those same ignorant people claim to be patriotic which is laughable in an unfunny way. He still has solid support amongst them though their numbers are shrinking. He plays on their irrational fears and they ignore the obvious reality. We need to get everyone out to vote. I’m not afraid of the republicans if everyone votes. Why are they so afraid of everyone voting? The answer is crystal clear.
