We have a non functioning government.

I watched Bill Barr testify.

I watched all the CEO's of the tech companies testify.

I am watching the hearing on Covid-19.

I have watched hundreds of hearings since Trump was elected.

We have a non functioning government.

I can't believe that the whole federal government has not collasped.

It is apparent that many of our Senators and Congressmen are not interested in governing.

1. I believe it was Molly Ivins who said, "Republicans don't want to govern, they want to rule."

The American people need to sharpen up & stop voting for republicans. It would help if the dems would take marketing as seriously as the repubs do.

The best anti-Trump commercials come from The Lincoln Project, a bunch of disgruntled "former" Republicans expert in political messaging and personal attacks. The talent of the GOP has always been their messaging satisfies the base, but their actions satisfy the donor class. The words are all lies, but the marketing is so effective their base is constantly fooled.

... target audience excels at lapping their bullshit. Their only genius was building a base from the moron demographic. And that’s turning on them now.

Edit to add - I agree with all you said, except that messaging and marketing is their strength. I suppose it is, but not because they are good at it. It’s because republican voters are not critical thinkers.

And they finally got their wish under Trump, and some help from COVID. This nightmare can't end soon enough.

Have seen hours of deception and obfuscation from the republicans charged with governing. And it’s killing people who voted them in, not just their political opposition.

I thought I’d seen tyranny during the bush years, but I had no idea how far it could go. There’s a pandemic raging and this is how they use their time and voice?

Heck, scalise is up there saying Americans don’t get to have a cogent and coordinated federal response, because state governments were given money (to compete with one another and figure it out themselves).
