(115,610 posts)though that's never happened before. Theoretically, even if Pelosi had not been re-elected she could still be Speaker because the term of Speaker doesn't have an expiration date; they serve at the pleasure of the House. It would be litigated, of course.

(7,447 posts)but it's done per state delegation. Right now, they lead 26-24, so we'd need at least one more delegation to fall our way.
Unclear what happens if it's 50-50...but suspect at least one R would go with the popular vote winner in the case of a tie.

(4,136 posts)13 Democrats and 14 Republicans. This might be the best shot for picking up another majority Democratic delegation as only one seat needs to be flipped.
It would be poetic justice if it were Ted Yohos seat although he is not running for re-election.
Mario Diaz-Balart from Miami (FL 25th) might be the best pickup opportunity; his is only an R+4 district.
