Republicans race to promote mail voting as Trump's attacks discourage his own supporters

from embracing the practice

President Trump’s unfounded attacks on mail balloting are discouraging his own supporters from embracing the practice, according to polls and Republican leaders across the country, prompting growing alarm that one of the central strategies of his campaign is threatening GOP prospects in November.

Multiple public surveys show a growing divide between Democrats and Republicans about the security of voting by mail, with Republicans saying they are far less likely to trust it in November. In addition, party leaders in several states said they are encountering resistance among GOP voters who are being encouraged to vote absentee while also seeing the president describe mail voting as “rigged” and “fraudulent.”

As a result, state and local Republicans across the country fear they are falling dramatically behind in a practice that is expected to be key to voter turnout this year. Through mailers and Facebook ads, they are racing to promote absentee balloting among their own.

In the process, some Republican officials have tried to draw a distinction between “absentee ballots,” which Trump claims are secure, and “mail ballots,” which he has repeatedly attacked. In fact, the terms are used interchangeably.

and was installed there to derail the "voting by mail" policy. WTF, now they are seeing that actually it's hurting their supporters especially seniors and people with pre-existing conditions and others who desire to vote by mail.

or morons in coming up w/ these vote suppression techniques?

These republican task masters are sitting high and dry in their castles, behind their moats, thinking of all of the voter suppression methods that they can come up with, without any concerns of what their own voters are going through, when they too, go vote.

The republican task masters are getting desperate too, being almost all of the polls are indicating that rump and cronies are going to be wiped out in a landslide in Nov. 2020. Wiped out along with the loss of the Senate and even more seats in the House to the democratic party, the party of Life.

The most important thing to remember is that republican voters' own representatives and their PINO are throwing them out to die when they fight against voting by mail (a very safe method of voting). Their own party.

Trust me, they are still going to show up. Trump still campaigning only to his base tells me they are counting on the post office failing, military like presence in large swing state cities, and flat out obstruction—-remember the court ordered restrictions on them going back to the 80’s were allowed to expire by this DOJ.
