Could the Congress pass legislation making election fraud subject to harsh penalty if convicted?

Perhaps a five to ten-year sentence?

That might discourage those that feel inclined to carry out criminal actions for Donald J Trump?

I don't doubt but that Trump would threaten a veto. kentuck Aug 2020 #2

If the Senate refused to over-ride veto, it would show where Trump and Republicans stand on "voter fraud".

On the grounds of cruel and unusual punishment for a crime that is essentially non existent because it is completely pointless to try. Swaying an actual election through voter fraud is pretty harmless because it is virtually impossible to pull off.

Voter suppression and disinformation campaigns are far more effective and what needs to be clamped down on.
