You can find these stories about USPS all over the country. The Post Office story *is* getting coverage at a national level.

But everyone needs to understand what individual Americans are experiencing themselves and hearing from local media at a local level.

combine the world prior to the pandemic and then add in Covid 19 which has caused workers to deal with both increased demands and a workforce that suffers the affects of the Virus along with just everyone else.

I got two deliveries yesterday. The first being my mail from last Thursday and Friday, then my regular delivery but still not everything has shown up based upon my Informed Delivery emails.

The Postal Workers are doing the best they can, but there is only so much they can do.

Some of Louis DeJoy's changes which have crippled the US Postal Service:

- Shutting down mail-sorting machines so workers must do it by hand.

- Requiring letter carriers to LEAVE MAIL BEHIND to avoid extra trips.

- Prohibiting overtime pay.

This has created a massive backlog.

https://www.thestar.com/news/world/us/2020/08/03/house-panel-calls-new-postal-chief-to-explain-mail-delays.html

WASHINGTON - The House Oversight Committee has invited the new postmaster general to appear at a September hearing to examine operational changes at the U.S. Postal Service that are causing delays in mail deliveries across the country.

The plan imposed by Louis DeJoy, a Republican fundraiser who took over the top job at the Postal Service in June, eliminates overtime for hundreds of thousands of postal workers and orders that mail be kept until the next day if postal distribution centres are running late.

The USPS unlike UPS and Fedex is highly automated and can easily handle the current volume. The problem is at the delivery end. They have been more and more relying on temps to do mail delivery since 2012 and still don't have enough people to deliver the mail without a lot of overtime. Letter carriers are the largest group of postal emplyees so when budget crunches happen it's the easiest thing to cut to save some dough.

13. It might be more complex than this. Prior stories stated that under the new

rules post offices were not allowed to use their automated letter sorters at certain times, leaving the postal employees to do large amounts of sorting by hand. So that should be factored in.

Pennsylvania - issues
Ohio - issues
Illinois - issues
Michigan - ?

Arizona - no apparent issues yet, or very minimal.
Texas - ?
Florida - ?

Trump just attacked Nevada's vote by mail. Is there mail slowdown in Nevada?

We should be able to figure out if there is a pattern.
