They are kidding themselves. Yes they may have tons of training with arms, but since they are often from rural and exurban areas, they have little experience with denser urban environments, not to mention they know little about the terrain they would be fighting in. Anyone who remembers discussions about war in Iraq would know of the dangers of urban warfare. They would likely also be up against black and hispanic gangs that know what they don't know about the urban environment and their neighborhood, and many blacks and hispanics nowadays have been trained in the U.S. Military. Also, dense urban cities like NYC, Philly, and San Francisco are packed enough for people to easily hide in crevices and rooftops and easily throw things to people on the streets. Imagine how easily it would be for people in places with buildings as high as five to 10 floors to shoot and throw things to people in the streets...

Of course, hopefully the worst that will happen is that Trumps supporters will be exposed as blustering cowards (all hat, no cattle), and Trump's supposedly mighty army would buckle and he will be frog marched out of office.

I can see it more and more in the rural area of MI where I grew up. The exodus to the urban areas is picking up speed.

The CV pandemic is only going to make it worse for the rurals. No adequate internet for work from home or schooling of their children. Overburdened health care services, etc.

Depends on what the military does. The majority of the military is conservative in the troops and a even higher percentage in the officers. Thinking they will do their constitutional duty is also suspect, the feds in Portland didn't have a problem with that at all apparently. The police pretty much the same thing. I have friends and family in both, its a them against us mentality almost through and through. We are the scary communists and they are the patriots, facts be damned. We have the numbers and the youth, they have the arms and the training. The first rule of any type of conflict is to actually know the facts and not let your bias lead you to disaster. Couple of questions and observations
First, who are these trump defenders going to shoot? Their own family who may have Republicans and Democrats among them? Federal Marshals? The FBI or Secret Service? The National Guard who may be called out? How about the United States military who, after listening to the many former military leaders, I have no doubt they will perform their duty and defend the constitution. Without uniforms, or some defining marks or badges, how are they going to know who's the enemy and who is an ally among the civilian population? Just a few of the questions concerning what I personally consider to be maybe 5 to 10% wackos to deal with, and a 90 to 95% bullshit scenario.

There is a reason why Rachel Maddow, Joy Reid, Lawrence O'Donnell, Don Lemon, and military experts are not screaming at the top of their lungs concerning the coming crisis that a few fear-mongers are stoking. I'll take this crap seriously when the former generals and admirals, who will undoubtedly have inside information, start ringing the alarm, and tells us we have lost the military.
