(19,564 posts)I suspect it will be Harris, and she will be a fierce against Pence in the debate if I'm correct.
And, I'm looking forward to it, too. Boy, am I ever!

(1,648 posts)Her diplomatic and national security credentials are desperately needed on immediately reversing what Donald Dumbass has done to the endanger and harm the United States, along with her knowledge of how everything is suppose to work at the White House. She can hit the ground running and even start making moves to limit further damage... If someone knows that she can pinpoint where to get immediate evidence and unlock secrets, then those being pressured now will have a reason not to go along with further damage and even hide things for a changeover. Not to mention her personal relationships that she can continue without any visible violation.

(1,086 posts)Basically Biden and she worked together and she is ready to take over a large part of the work load on day one so he can concentrate on all of the stuff at home. It also signals to the rest of the world that the Biden Administration will not be totally distracted by the problems at home and while it wont stop foreign interference it certainly could temper it.
That is a really strong case. But the complaint you hear is she doesn't really add anything as Biden already has Foreign Policy, give her State. Which is a total waste of her experience at this point. What about DoD, the intelligence alphabet, Homeland, Commerce and all f the other departments that have an international or security footprint. There is nobody ready to share as much of the burden as she is right now.
But lets talk campaign. Despite the fact that she worked on both Dean 2004 and Obama 2008 many people feel that because she hasn't run she isn't ready for the fire of a campaign. Anyone who has watched her deal with the press and public since the Clinton administration have no doubts about that, especially when you consider the sometimes much more brutal and informed international press. She has demonstrated the important ability not only to through a punch, but to take a hit and hit right back.
But she doesn't add anything. She adds the important job of being the downfield blocker against the biggest line of attack Biden will face Far from being a liability Benghazi is the tripwire of the coming attacks. By having to come through her to get to Biden it not only halves the attacks it shifts it further to Obama and Clinton and moves the entire foreign policy debate, a place where Trump has many more immediate vulnerabilities.

(244 posts)Hi everyone. First post since 2016, but Im back!
I want to see Susan Rice,. Second choice is Duckworth. Im a retired Fed. It breaks my heart to see how Trump has tried to destroy everything I worked for for 30 years. I just want to see normal, boring, competency in our leadership. Rice fits that bill. Brilliant, competent, respected on the world stage and knows how things work. I dont really care if she isnt a politician. In fact I think thats a plus in this environment. I think thats exactly what we need right now. Someone to fix everything thats been broken and is above all the political BS. Just my opinion.
