I am excited to hear who'll be on the ballot when he announces her name, but it's Thursday and no news. I always thought Friday was a "news dump" day (although his pick will be enduring news, of course).
Who can enlighten me? Does it not really matter?
Thanks

(1,086 posts)It will depend on the news cycle. While he has hedged his announcement time frame. The choice is probably already made and what we have been getting is the roll out.
But this is the move that will dominate the news cycle and Friday has the July Jobs report and the relief package negotiations and I doubt he wants to step on that unless it is a very good report for Trump. My guess is Thursday next week.

(15,805 posts)to assess the public reaction to the new VP during the generally slower news weekend so they can hit the campaign trail running on Monday morning.
They'll have time to get their talking points in order and work with the new VP to get her ready for the questions they expect the press to ask her if they schedule her appearance on the Sunday political shows. Her handlers will want to get her responses tight and polished for her introductory debut.
They will also be working Biden to get him prepped ahead of the slew of interviews he'll have scheduled for next week.

(420 posts)I would rather that not get lost in coverage of Bidens VP pick. Not that Rumps idiotic decisions get enough coverage anyway, but the Dems should be all over the media highlighting SS cuts.

(2,227 posts)The idea that Friday is "news dump day" is moot.
The Friday news dump tends to run non-stop, Saturday, and all day Sunday on the Sunday news talk shows.
Besides, the turd TWEETS non-stop from his terlet. His "offal" is instantly acknowledged.
