Jason Miller, an adviser to President Trumps reelection campaign, said in an interview published Friday evening that Joe Biden is actually a very good debater, appearing to run counter to the GOPs confidence that the former vice president would hand Trump an embarrassing gaffe that could spark a negative news cycle.
Joe Biden is actually a very good debater. He doesnt have as many gaffes as he does in his everyday interviews, Miller told The Washington Post. I would make the argument that Joe Biden would even be the favorite in the debates since hes been doing them for 47 years.
The first debate between Trump and Biden will take place on Sept. 29.

(6,477 posts)Yes. We get it. You have to lower expectations for your candidate and increase expectations for the other candidate.
Then, of course, The Hill, which is a Trump campaign organ, pumps out the statement as a headline.
It's the insult to everybody's intelligence that's offensive.

(23,195 posts)It would be political malpractice for anyone on the Trump team, before the debates, to claim that Biden is a poor debater.

(61,033 posts)show President Obama how it was done as it was staged after the first presidential debate in which Romney had pulled off a gish gallop against President Obama, a flummoxing technique that left many aghast at the effectiveness of it's sheer, unrelenting and staccato volume of words which monopolized all the space in the room.
Joe's performance showed how one had to take command of the debate by showing the ridiculousness of one's opponents argumentsthus the "please proceed, governor" phrase.
Biden was also extremely effective against the hackneyed, anti-democratic establishment arguments presented by Bernie Sanders in their debate during the Dem primaries this presidential cycle.
Joe will do fine, if any debates actually happened. And it's guaranteed he won't stand for trump invading his space on the podium.
