So we have an insane president who says "Fuck the constitution."

Those who wrote the constitution didn't anticipate this. None of us did.

Yet, we Democrats are still proceeding as though the constitution still has meaning. We're "playing by the rules."

Meanwhile, Trump is doing anything and everything he wants to do, regardless of any "rules." And the entire Republican Party is remaining silent while their propaganda machine is trying to make dear leader "president for life."

Regardless of polls and the fact that most Americans know that the monster is doing everything possible to steal this election, we are still sticking to the rules. We're still obeying the constitution. We are still living in some fantasy land in which, we believe that goodness and righteousness and voting will win out in the end.

Trump's destruction of the Postal Service means that we must show up and vote in person to help ensure our votes are counted. But in some key states, showing up in person may mean traveling a hundred miles or more for many minorities, and even when they get there, they can't be sure that their names haven't been scrubbed from the voting lists, or that their IDs may not be sufficient.

What we are doing is hoping that the Democratic vote will be so vast that the orange beast, and the entire Republican Party will be crushed. I know I'm hoping for that. And I also know that life has taught me, "Pee in one hand, hope in the other, and see which one fills up first."

America has fallen off a cliff and we're counting on there being a safety net to catch us before we're destroyed on the rocks. So let me get to the bottom line here. What if Trump and the criminal Republican Party succeed in stealing this election? What are we prepared to do? We know that if they hold onto power, America, democracy, and our freedoms are over. So if Trump and the Republican thugs steal this election, we all know that our individual liberties will be gone for good. I, for one, can't live with this outcome. So, again I ask, what are we prepared to do?

One more thought. Some days, I am truly anticipating the destruction of Trump and the entire Republican Party this November. And on other days, like today, I fall into a dark place where the horror I've described above can happen.

All those checks and balances in the other two branches of government have been obliterated by the Red Side. Stunning!

... relating to the federal government.

There should be laws that relate to impeachment that says the courts need to hurry the hell up cause a president 6 months out from an election to affect the election then can do some impeachable shit and rely on a slow court system to cover his tracks like Trump

The system only works when both sides agree that laws are a thing.

Republicans don't believe that anymore. They are eager to give ever increasing power to their "Dear Orange Leader", but boy howdy, I bet their tone will change the second a Democratic president writes any executive order.

are living/witnessing the American system/democracy going down the drain. As you well pointed out, the republicans are not playing by the rules and the democrats are.

If Trump wins another four years, I think America as we knew it will be gone and it will morph into some type of rogue regime and for many a dystopia. I like to believe TPTB in the democratic party are well aware of this and will counter it. I hope so.

The main problem I see is that as democrats play by the rules, the republicans are under the piers cutting down the pilings for a collapse of the structure. I am still amazed, but I should not be, that we have a GOP and republican senate that does not give a damn about the country or the people and only self-gratification. There are other countries willing and waiting for America to be gone, and Trump and his gang are doing their best to achieve that goal for other countries.

to stop the possible, upcoming theft of our government, -- again.

Exactly what do you expect Nancy Pelosi and the Dems that control the House to do? Declare a second Civil War? C'mon. Ain't gonna happen. And assuming it did happen, it sure as hell won't be a war with muskets. It will be a war that would probably bury America and perhaps, most of the rest of the world.

Holding the House means nothing when a madman is running amok in the White House. The most horrible scenario has come to be and, imo, the only ones who can stop this maniac are the Republicans. Yet, their cowardice, their fear of losing their house/senate seats, prevents them from defending America against total destruction.

Let's face it. The inability of Republicans to grasp the horror of a second Donald Trump presidential term is on a level with Louie Gohmert's world view. It's absolute, total ignorance. And that's my best guess as to their motives. The only other possibility is that they represent pure evil.

the US is headed. I wish that would happen, but I doubt it. Some will defend the country, but for many "their cowardice, their fear of losing their house/senate seats, prevents them from defending America against total destruction." My hope is that as November approaches the former might happen ... realizing where the US is headed. Ha, no, I'm not a fan of a second civil war declared. We would end up probably in an even worse spot. That said, I think in many cases the republican party for some has become a cauldron of evilness.
