I heard CNN talking about how Kamala Harris is seen as "too ambitious." Ok.... Think what one will about Kamala-- Love her or hate her or whatever. . . But when the FUCK is this ever said about a man? Furthermore, just WHO is saying Kamala is too ambitious? Talking heads on TV just blather on about it, and before we know it, everybody is repeating it. Furthermore, who the fuck cares if she's ambitious?
And lastly, what gets me even more is that I hear shit like this from the supposed "liberal" media outlets. . . Fuxx News lies and makes up false facts, but we can blame MSNBC (usually) for the self-inflicted damage, although it was CNN today. Makes me sick.
These kinds of statements make me think of Pussy-Grabber when he starts flailing and says, "I've heard people say. . ." Or "Somebody told me. . ." This is the SAME formula, "People are saying that Kamala is too ambitious." I call it bullshit.

(6,234 posts)I would not want someone running for anything if they are not ambitious. Really a person who is not ambitious would not do all the work to run. Ambition is necessary.

(6,280 posts)There is ambition for the sake of furthering one's own fortune, and then there is ambition for the purpose of elevating everyone's fortune along with their own.
I have my own opinion which category each of the possible choices fall into.

I'm positive there are more people on the Democratic side who can form their own opinion of character based upon personal observation. We are nothing like the lemmings of Faux News and trump.

(14,561 posts)And the 'too ambitious' thing? Pure sexism.
I do have to say, though, that my first choice would be Rice.
But Harris would be just fine.

(63,221 posts)Do you ever notice it's only people of color and women who are described as "too ambitious"? Unfortunately, she is both so she's getting the double-whammy of prejudice and judgment.
Her ambition, her confidence and her intelligence are what makes her such a powerful, charismatic presence in the first place and I think it's also the same reason that some people - the OTHER people - are afraid of her.
I think she's inspiring and impressive and would make a great addition to Joe's team.

A similar annoying habit exists with most all outlets that can't resist plastering large color photos of tRump on every single headline page that are highly offensive to me.
And yes, sexism and racism is pervasive in virtually all major news outlets around the globe, mostly in subtle ways but sometimes blatantly obvious.

(25,380 posts)Too ambitious, unlikeable, over-prepared, too this and not enough that. Everything has a diabolical negative motivation. A woman doing the job she was hired to do: conspiracy theories of Kamala Harris putting everyone in jail and Hillary Clinton as hawkish warmonger. Fucking ridiculous. Is this a mommy complex or what.
Today I watched an old panel discussion from the primaries and someone said, out of the blue, as if it had anything to do with anything they were discussing, "Amy Klobuchar threw a stapler at someone."
