(71,541 posts)event today filled me with hope...and emotion. I am not a crier usually. But Joe and Kamala had me in tears. And there was a crowd to greet them...wearing masks! I have Peacock and they have NBC live...got rid of much of my paid streaming to save money.

(12,091 posts)nothing like this. I loved it when Obama was our candidate. But this is different. This will determine the life or death of our nation.
It's sooo emotional for me. I am so very, very happy!

(82,849 posts)Sure, we've all been aware of Sen. Harris for a while, but most folks haven't seen or heard her. What little they know of her is probably from Trump and Republicans who have invested heavily in demonizing Democrats. It's just that when you're conditioned to expect some fire-breathing she-devil and instead Kamala Harris comes out, all the fear mongering seems hollow.
It's still going to be a battle until November, but I'd much rather be in the Democrats' position than the Republicans.

(1,718 posts)Spend 10 minutes talking about how she really can drink water with one hand and walk down a slight decline without falling? Or did she spend 10 minutes blathering on about how surprised her doctors were that she wasn't brain damaged?
Or did she mock any disabled people in the audience? Use any racial slurs? Tell people to inject themselves with bleach? Talk about how great she is and how stupid anyone who doesn't realize it must be?
Because if she didnt, then I just cant believe her speech was any good at all.
Golly will it be AMAZING to have functional, caring, human, decent, adults for President and VP again. I cannot wait!!! I love Joe and Kamala!

(71,541 posts)unleashed a pandemic and destroy the economy...he is a racist, sexist piece of shit. He has sent no help to the people who need it...20 % of Americans ...maybe more...will go to bed hungry tonight. Thank God for the hope I experience today as I listened to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
