There are no miracles, SCOTUS actions or "manager" to speak to who will stop Trump.

We are ALL stressed. Not mainly the POC, LGBTQs, Muslims, immigrants and women for once. ALL of us are under attack by the Oval Office and are impacted by the widespread distruction of our institutions, even those who have felt it was an intellectual rather than immediate personally relevant problem up til now.

Many have had the privilege of society pretty much functioning in a way that makes sense to them and benefits them, and are now gobsmacked and demanding to know why all this which affects them hasn't been "fixed" by SCOTUS, Congress, the DNC, Dems in the Senate, the 25th amendment, more people taking to the streets, etc.

To those privileged in our culture who are crying "There just HAS to be some way to stop him!" Sorry, there is likely no way to stop him other than voting him out. This is a complicated, messy situation and there are no easy answers to make things make sense again.

There is no 'manager' or FEMA coming before January. At best there can be some damage control. Trump will continue his rampage, and his attempts to redirect our attention and our outrage.

Sorry, Susan Sarandon and her ilk, the election of Trump did not bring about your "revolution." No, were not going to "be all right after four years of Trump" and then everyone would inevitably see the wisdom of your "political genius." We are in an unfolding real life four year nightmare. Elections have consequences, and all of us who were vomiting on election night, and not sneering and gloating because the Oval Office was handed to Trump instead of going to the winner knew this was coming. WE, who had HRC's back, knew that all this was coming down the pike: many, many people would die, especially the most vulnerable, our institutions wold be trashed, racists orgs would be emboldened and supported, and our economy gutted. WE predicted the very real dystopian dangers inherent in that theoretical "burning it all down." WE are not suddenly discovering that yes, it really can and will get worse. There are no miracles, no sudden resolution in what some seem to view as dystopian movie we're in that will make us feel good when we exit after the credits.

And WE are telling you right now that the only sure way to stop the bleeding is getting Joe Biden and Kamala Harris elected, no matter how you feel about them. We need to have their backs, NO MATTER WHAT. There have already been attacks, aimed at splitting and defeating us (Kamala is a 'cop,' Biden has dementia, is a rapist) but their victory is the only thing standing between us and the end of Democracy as we know it, and the only way we are going to even start digging out of the rubble. Confront that shit when you see it being spread around. We NEED to take the House and Senate, no matter how you feel about your Democratic candidate that won the primary. This is not the time for infighting. This is not the time for clawing at our leaders to do and say what we need to validate our unfamiliar anxiety, because they need every goddamn ounce of energy and focus to do their job, AND resist the daily onslaught of Trump atrocities with every tool they have.

Wringing our hands and lashing at our Democratic leaders or SCOTUS or whoever for not doing that SOMETHING RIGHT NOW (no matter if it's not within their power) that will ease our anxiety is a waste of energy. Focus on what we can do - call our reps and tell them you support full funding of the post office. Call them and tell them to get the Democratic stimulus package through. Volunteer to get out the vote. Crush the smears about Democratic Candidates and the Democratic Party on social media when you see them. It will be time for the modern version of victory gardens, pulling together and putting our non-urgent differences aside for a time where we have the luxury of leisurely discussions of topics other than survival in a post-apocalyptic landscape.

We are going to be in a full on reconstruction phase of our democracy after this massive man-made disaster. Cleanup will need to happen before we see large scale restoration, so patience will be necessary - not complacency - but patience.

We didn't get here in six months, and we won't get out of it in that short of a time.

I am encouraging everyone I know to vote and to complete the census. The future of our country depends on this election in November, and that is not hyperbole. History will record this moment in our history as a turning point in the evolution of our country. Trump and his enablers will be seen as the "Benedict Arnolds" of this period in our nation's history. These are frightening, dangerous times.

I do wish there was more that can be done to hold the asshole accountable to simply OBEY the law and norms, but the one problem about electing a fascist like him is he ignores all norms and laws and gets the institutions to fall in line. We need to vote the motherfucker out. We need to volunteer, donate and get people to the polls like never before. And we need to shut up the Susan Sarandon types the moment they open their mouths. They are selfish and entitled. This is literally life or death for millions of people and we need to win. There is no other option...
