The Chicago native has until noon Thursday, Aug. 20, to turn in the petition to file as an Independent, according to Julia Bruck, director of communications for the office of Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett.
West will have to get the signatures and addresses of at least 275 registered Tennessee voters in order to qualify.
More at link. Interesting that chump is worried about winning TN!

(17,821 posts)Tennessee is pretty informal, for the most part. Some people are of the opinion that Mr. Tuxedo likes to 'put on airs.'

(82,849 posts)Same thing occurred to a lot of people: Why doesn't someone intervene? Rosie O'Donnell wrote a short essay about the situation that had a different angle. She talked about some of her own personal struggles, and how she could identify to an extent with Sheen's all-too-public crisis. But then she had some harsh words for any of Sheen's fans, people who had enjoyed his work over the years, and how quiet they all were while a celebrity they followed was falling apart. At first it made some sense, but then I thought it was a bit unfair: If Charlie Sheen (or any celebrity) is cracking up and isn't listening to people he knows and may trust, why would he listen to Frank Fanboi in Frisco?
The really sad thing about Kanye West's situation is that the people he knows and trusts have probably been alienated from him, and the only folks close to him right now are vultures picking over his assets for their personal enrichment. The Trump campaign is right there.

(816 posts)Let face it some celebrities see dollar signs when they see "fans" and when there are a lot less dollar signs not supporting or listening to you that becomes a louder noise than anything a wife or child or parent can say.

(12,533 posts)But hoping to soon move back to the Philly/South Jersey area. My husband and I are both NJ natives and have lived and worked in Philadelphia. We miss the familiar, friends and family. Covid messed up our spring intentions of selling. We're hoping the virus is more under control by next year. We have a new baby grand daughter to fuss over, now living in Delaware County, Pa.
But it has been interesting down here, a fish out of water interesting. Amazing differences between US regions.

(11,419 posts)He won by carrying most of the Northern states while the Southern ones split among Bell, Douglas, and Breckenridge. Lincoln wasn't even listed on the ballot in the states that became the core of the Confederacy.
In 1860, though, I don't think anyone was deliberately trying to manipulate the ballots.
