Here in Minnesota, in the week leading up to the Primary last Tuesday, at my local post offices all Official Election Mail pieces that were taken into a Post Office were treated just like Express Mail pieces. They were segregated into special tubs with special markings, placed on top of the dispatch hampers so that it would be the first thing taken off the truck at the distribution center, where I believe they bypassed the sorting machines and were taken directly to the election office.
I don't know if the election mail collected on the carrier routes were given the same treatment, or if the same policy was in effect nationwide. But if not, we should require this of the USPS for the general election.
We should also require all managers and employees to be educated on the criminal consequences of interfering with election mail, lest any of them have a mind to "disappear" a vanload of ballots.

These types of ideas could invalidate your ballot.
