Can't We Have A PreAddressed Perforated Receipt Attached To The Outside Of A Vote By Mail Ballot....

that when received by the post office it gets cancelled along with the ballot as to date and time received.

When the vote is counted - this pre-addressed perforated receipt gets torn off and dropped in the mail as proof that the vote was received; when it was received (date and time) and that the vote was counted.

If we want to assure every American has a right to vote and that we want to make sure there is no funny stuff happening with your vote - we have the technology and ability to do just that.

Another idea is a barcode on the envelope that is scanned when the vote is received (date and time) as well as being scanned when the vote is counted. The scanned barcode triggers an e-mail to the voter again as proof.

We have the ability to do things like this to prevent fraud in mail-in voting. We just have to have the desire to do these type of things to protect our votes.

I'm sure there are other - maybe even better ways (than my above suggestions) to prevent fraud and provide a receipt.

We just need to get smarter and do these things. The fact that we don't makes me believe that there are people out there that want to rig elections.

There's a perforated strip across the top, one tears it off before putting the completed ballot in the return envelope. There's a number and a barcode-type thing in the strip which matches identical markings on the ballot. If I take that number and go to the county website I can check if and when the ballot has been received and counted.

4. Then We Need To Implement A National System To Do This.....

Congress needs to get involved and nationalize the voting process. The stakes are too big to leave such decisions to the States. Voting - particularly in National Elections - should be the purview of the National Government.

If we have to - it needs to be written into the Constitution.

We just can't leave such important business of this democracy up to the whims of the Controlling Party or the Governor of a State.

If we have proven systems that are in place that prevent fraud and provide accountability of the counting of the vote - then we must be smart enough to use them.

and yes, there is technology to tighten things up. There should be the ability to track and trace just like we can follow an Amazon shipment at multiple way points along the way. Maybe there should be a PIN required by of the voter once the ballot is scanned. The voter is notified their ballot has been scanned, bit the PIN is required for the vote to be calculated.

I want ballot harvesting to be prevented and severely punished. We don't need Republicans gathering ballots at church on Sunday mornings or someone walking the halls of nursing homes helping dementia patients fill out their ballots then bringing wheelbarrow loads of them to the county clerk. You fuck with ballots, you need to pay big time. And there needs to be a way for a voter to confirm the mailed-in ballot is legit.

Ideally, voting could be done online or via the phone. We aren't there yet.

10. And ALL of the e voting code should be open source read only,

'Lockable' for election day (but readable in real time) so that any fuckery in the code can be crowdsource monitored.

Any community college programming class worth next years degree could design this system, it's not hard.

Talk me down lol..

I bank online, I deal with my doctor online, I review my paycheck online, I do confession online, and I file taxes online. There's no reason I shouldn't vote online, too.So many are getting the vapers over the USPS and their ability to handle elections. We, as a country, need to figure out how vote online. The world would be simpler!

Let's get over our USPS anxiety and figure out this problem!

And if theres any fuckery and a manual count needs doing, you bring that back and have it counted.

This is only difficult because Republicans and their paymasters want it to be.
