(2,012 posts)Rachel's on it. Trump couldn't have picked a more ridiculous act than destroying the USPS and that stupid DeJoy had to back down today. Keep up the good work, Dems.

(6,206 posts)Rachel said they won't remove any more postal boxes. But, do they plan to put them back where they took them from?
We need to hear and see that.
And then there is the matter of the destroyed mail sorters, and the elimination of overtime.
Folks, the mail boxes are only a small part of the savaging of the Postal System. DeJoy can pretend to back down while merely shifting to a different tactic that has the same effect.
For example, they only retrieve the contents once or twice a week instead of daily.
DeJoy and Trump won't let this go. They are determined to wreck the USPS. They plan do permanent, fatal damage to it.
It's been on Trump's wish list for a long time.

I encourage follow through and investigation. But this seems legit, how long the boxes have been there is another question. The image itself though does seem to be what it claims.

(10,176 posts)the fuckhead first got in about 10 years ago. I'm not sure what the catalyst was, but we never got new ones. I couldn't find a mailbox in our town of 75,000+ if I tried other than the Post Office.

(13,128 posts)and removals must be data based as a result of density testing of each box. There are employees whose only job is collecting the mail from these boxes.

(31,893 posts)Where in Wisconsin was this taken? Who took the photo? What is the exact date it was taken?
When are we going to learn to not believe everything that gets posted on the internet?

(21,794 posts)The USPS would track how much mail these boxes get over time, and if it stays low, they remove the box. Crime is also a factor. If a box develops a history of being broke into or damaged, they may remove the box. They have been phasing down the boxes for a long time.
They ended up removing thousands of boxes. And since the boxes are designed to be weatherproof, they often stack them outside. They may use them in case of new constructions, like a sub division.
If I saw this at a large office, I wouldn't think it out of place.
Watch specific boxes in service to see if they are removed.

(31,893 posts)removed mailboxes in Wisconsin - as part of the new Postmaster General's program to limit mail service.
However, there is no possible way to verify this claim, and I doubt its veracity.
