He calls them "Fake News".

Yet everyday, he is in front of them saying whatever he wants to say. A free rein to spread whatever lies and propaganda he wishes to spout. The obedient reporters are willing to do as they are told. That is part of their job.

The lies have flooded our land - thru the Social Media, thru talk radio, thru cable television, etc.

As if there could be no consequences?

It is the lies that are so dangerous. They are the seeds to chaos and confusion.

The reporters should go on strike and not even show up for his next press conference?

Or send just 2 or 3 reporters to cover for the pool?

Who is the leader of the White House Press Corps?

~~~
That was why it was so shocking to see the reporter from the Huffington Post. He broached the subject of "lies". That seemed so unusual!
1. I agree Kentuck,
A couple of the virus rallies he just called on his pet reporters who asked him pre-programmed questions. These rallies remind me of 2016 when Trump's rallies were covered 24/7 by the MSM. Why cover them, covering them allows Trump to control the narrative, even if he is fact checked after the rallies Trump is still controlling the narrative.
If somebody calls you "fake", what responsibility do you have to go back every day? The entire White House press corps should not be there. Send a couple or three reporters from the pool each day and it will shorten his long-winded propaganda to a very short episode.
4. Why send reporters at all? Just place a Siri on the front row with the instruction to fact-check him
and immediately say, "That's a lie, sir."
Or better yet, put a Siri in every reporter's chair, each one programmed to be an expert in one of the many things he lies about.
And tells them to their face that they are "fake news". Yet, they come back day after day in herds, sowing discord and division.
They definitely need a new strategy.
9. The biggest con man of all time figured it out: if the president says something, it's news.
And as president, he doesn't have deign to call on or repsond to anything. He controls the room.
But this is positional, meaning it's the office - not the person - who is given that respect.
Things are out whack with Trump. He could go to the opening of an envelope and the media will wait breathlessly to cover it; the broadcasters often live. Reporters up and down the political spectrum want to be there when he says something outrageous or reaffirming. They hang on to every word so it can fill HOURS and PAGES of commentary after.
Let's see how much airtime, ink and pixels Biden is given on the issus that matter to him when he becomes president.
those who would give up liberty for security deserve neither.
Reporter to Trump: 'Do you regret all the lying to Americans?'
687,199 views •Aug 14, 2020
CNN
The Huffington Post's Senior White House Correspondent S.V. Date tells CNN's Brianna Keilar why he bluntly asked President Donald Trump if he regretted "all of the lying" he had done over the past three years.
I believe those reporters are forced to be there by their corporate media owners so they can be the first to report those latest sensationalized tidbits to catch the most clicks and views. They could care less about the amoral nature of Trump and his administration.
Even international media is addicted to reporting Trump's insanity, lies and bullshit......
Why even ask a question of someone who you know is going to lie?
The lies are dangerous.
They plant the seeds for chaos and division.
He must be called on them?
For example, why does he continue to lie about Kamala Harris? He knows she was born in this country.
rather than just accepting anything for the sake of content. That's traditionally been part of their job.
Another question we should ask is why don't they provide equal coverage and priority to the other two branches of government? Perhaps the House, the Senate and the Judiciary should hold frequent scheduled news conferences in order to gain some balance.
I guess that system would just be too boring for our entertainment-thirsty public.......
The White House Press Corps needs to be more organized in how they present questions.
If they beg out, the place would fill with sycophants who then would promote the Trump lies as truth without any one there to report what was really said. Unfortunately Trump is just one of millions of crazy Americans that are happy to believe the lies. They are all happy to carry on with them as God's truth.
Any more than that, it turns into a circus.
With a small number, they could work together and follow up with the previous questions.
