Do you know of *anyone* who plans to vote for Trump that *didn't* vote for him in 2016?

Meaning, the max, the absolute MAX number of votes he can get, is less than he got in 2016.

How many Trump '16 voters have since passed on?

How many Trump '16 voters have decided not to vote this year?

How many Trump '16 voters have voiced their plan to vote Biden?

It gives me hope when I think about it in these stark terms.

or those who didn't vote thinking it wouldn't make a difference. But this would be very small in number and he most likely lost way more votes than he would get with that.

But a large majority of those in these groups are still voting democratic.

Is there something they have in common that caused them all to reject Trump in 2016 but now they're voting for him in 2020? I'm thinking a diet rich in lead paint chips figures in there somewhere.

Democratic voters have. Don't be fooled by the nonsense this will be a close election. The shear panic caused trump/GOP to damage the USPS. We can overcome that in COVID era.

I do worry though about voter turnout at polls due to COVID-19 and Trump/GOP's attempts to thwart more mail-in/absentee voting (and garden variety GOP voter suppression). But if everybody GOTV we will win IMHO

Fortunately, others who were feeling that way right after Sanders dropped out are now hammering the third party friends everytime they post another "they are both the same" post.

I truly don't understand that mentality. I know it has to do with age/maturity . . . but I was never that stupid.

But I think it’s generally accepted by most who analyze polling and politics professionally (Charlie Cook, Larry Sabato, Harry Enten etc.) that trump has in fact not grown his base since 2016. I also think that is correct.

I have my doubts as to the likelihood of that being successful. 2016 IMHO was likely only possible due to a perfect storm of events unlikely to repeat itself

do the same for whites. At best maybe they will at least cancel each other out. This is a rural area that has very strong
Trump support. So living among these idiots it is hard to judge what it is like outside this area. I get a feeling of dread when I drive around and see a Trump flag on numerous houses and have only seen one sign saying"Anyone But Trump". I am getting a couple Biden stickers for my cars but am reluctant to display them for fear of getting my car keyed. Today I went to Rural King and there were
three young assholes one with a Trump mask walking around the store chanting Go Trump. This place is incredibly racist. I hope the
rest of the country isn't this bad. I was at Rural King and another store that sells guns they are completely sold out of handgun ammo at both. Its like they are preparing for war.

Period. I do, unfortunately, know more than a few people on the left whom hate Biden as much as Trump and will be voting 3rd Party or not at all. But most of my friends are still sucking it up to vote for Biden bc they know what's at stake even if they don't particularly like Biden.
