Canada Extends Ban on US Tourists

You still can’t go to Canada if you are a U.S. citizen.

And if you do, you better watch yourself.

Canadian Public Safety Minister Bill Blair announced Friday that the ban on Americans entering its northern neighbor will be extended until at least September 21 due to the rising number of positive new cases of the coronavirus in the United States.

The ban has been in place since March 31 when the two countries and Mexico mutually agreed to stop all nonessential travel to help slow the tide of COVID-19.

The media outlet also noted that 80 percent of Canadians polled by the British Broadcasting Corp. want their country to ban American travelers until at least the end of the year, and some have taken matters into their own hands by forming what Business Insider called "citizen detectives.”

Now I don't know when / if I will get to go visit. And I paid extra to have my passport renewal expedited too. Fucking COVID.

10. Yeah I have some friends / clients there and they were going to take me and show me the cool places.

And we also were going to watch my Ducks play the Canucks. So yeah I missed out on that. Thankfully I did get to get a full refund on my hotel. But they did say that when international travel resumes that the offer still stands!

I was told the border was simply closed.

They must be lying to Customs Canada.

8. There is one way Michigan can restore travel to Canada.

Shutoff our border with IN, OH and WI up in the Upper Peninsula to all non-essential traffic.

Make it like an international boundary.

Well worth it.
