I think this one is a touch off - that is, the division was always there but now we are just seeing it more openly displayed.

The division existed before Trump and I would argue that it's because of the division that we have Trump.

The damage Donald Trump has done over nearly four years is difficult to measure and understand. Historians will spend at least the next twenty years trying to explain the Trump era. For me, the most shocking realization has been how easily one man (aided and abetted by the GOP, of course) has been able to thoroughly destroy the concept of truth and the rule of law in this country.
