KEY POINTS
• A federal bankruptcy judge could decide as soon as Tuesday whether to approve Remington’s plan to auction off parts of the company in September.

• Remington’s bankruptcy plan does not address a pending lawsuit by the families of nine victims of the 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.

• The families said the plan would prevent Remington from ever answering for its alleged role in the mass shooting, which was carried out by a gunman using a Remington-made Bushmaster AR-15 rifle.

• Dozens of other liability claims are also on hold against Remington and its former parent company, DuPont.
