I seem to recall he made a quick and full recovery - as it should be.

I still, however, strongly suspect he had a receiver.

You'll recall that at the time, even his supporters felt the debates would present some of the biggest stumbling blocks for his re-election campaign.

As it happens, he did very well in those - much better than most thought he would.
