Published 1 min ago on August 19, 2020By Matthew Chapman
On Wednesday, during a Fox News interview, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) argued that it would be problematic if the government did too much to soften the amount of suffering from the job losses around the country because then governors wouldnt feel an urgency to reopen the economy and would wait for the threat of COVID-19
Rand Paul worries Dems want to soften the amount of suffering from job losses.
If you give people money and you make it less painful to be in a recession, we can stay in a recession longer. The recession is created by the government. The government shut the economy, said Paul, in an interview reported by Axios. So all of these governors, Democrat and Republican, will not have an incentive to open the economy if you soften the amount of suffering that they have created."
More at link. Putin really does want everyone infected, apparently. I wonder if repubes hear what they are saying? 😳🤯

(47,556 posts)who probably never wanted for anything his entire life. What does he know about "painful" or job loss or suffering? People are unemployed through no fault of their own and many face the prospect of homelessness, something I'm sure Rand never has had to face. People are suffering enough and he wants to make sure it is more painful.

Can you imagine knowing someone like that in real life? I don't suppose he actually has any real friends. Such a pissy little jerk.

(47,556 posts)when he was first elected. Such an oddball, even McConnell couldn't stand him.
I had a repuke tell me "I know trump is a really horrible human being but he is better than the wealth redistribution Dems want."
Almost barfed in his face.

(47,556 posts)I don't understand that mentality or the people who only vote based on the issue of abortion. So many people have no idea how government works, yet feel qualified to pick our leaders. We need more required courses in school that cover government and political science.

So, of course, I avoid him & his narcissistic family, some of which are not quite as bad, but just yuk.

(720 posts)What an entitled little shit, who never grew intellectually after the age of 13 (maybe because he started hitting Aqua Buddha especially hard then?), who never had to endure hardship of any sort, who gets to claim that he's a "doctor" because he has a certificate from some Trump University in the Caribbean, and yes, who very publicly got his ass kicked recently and who probably got his ass kicked many times before that.
What is the appeal of this clueless loser? He serves no good purpose whatsoever, and brings no value to the people of Kentucky.
Sorry for my rant, but this one really gets my goat.
