The original Convention schedule had President Obama making the closing speech on Wednesday; when Kamala Harris was picked as VP, he asked to switch places with her in the program.

Obama went on the attack so that we could see Harris in a very positive way as she told her personal story, something she could not have done fully if she was forced to be on the attack.

Trump would have expected Harris to go after him. So I figured Trump was ready with attacks against her. But it was Obama who stripped the bark off and left him with no ready made responses.

And what an uplifting speech she gave. I loved how she told the story of her mother. So touching and inspiring. Just looking at the pictures of her as a little girl you could see the fierce determination in her face already. This is the story of a woman who set out to live up to her potential and beyond. I am so proud she's a Democrat!

A lot of people tuned in last night to hear from Obama. It was good to get him on a little earlier than expected, so you didn’t risk people getting tired and going to bed before he speaks.

...to see a more feisty Kamala. She seemed so nice.

But maybe that was the intention. Have Obama piss Trump off, then introduce Kamala to all of America as an empathic person with love and goals for the people of the country. Trump will vent his anger at Obama but will not be caught calling Kamala a "nasty woman" again (or did he? I have not read all of his tweets yet this morning).

There is plenty of time and there will be lots of opportunities for her to go on the attack over the next 75 days.

Overall, the format of this convention could not be better. So inspirational! I really liked the focus on the youth last night.

There is nothing boring going on, no waiting for crowds to react, quiet down ... this is the future of conventions.

Also as an aside has anyone noticed that MSM is now using the term Democrat in a perfectly normal manner. Republicans' use of it as almost a slur is fading. We are Democrats. Republicans are Republicans. Willie Geist just used 'Democrat' and it's sounding normal.

The messaging has been fantastic w/o the distractions and hoopla of a convention focused on a few thousand insiders.

The DNC took the C-19 hand that we were dealt and turned it into a more insightful experience for the Party rank and file. I suspect 4 years from now, there will be a more blended convention that will utilize the content delivery of this convention with a more limited party atmosphere for the Insiders...maybe limited to a couple dozen live speeches over a couple of days and nights.

At 1st I was a bit disappointed in her speech, but then she drew me in. It became a perfect speech for her for many reasons.

The biggest one to me is that she defined herself. She put her story out there along with some of her biggest accomplishments, before the republicans could define her. Against the backdrop of trump calling her "nasty." I am sure some republicans and undecideds are scratching their heads wondering why. It makes trump look vindictive, weak and small.

I LMAO when she said she was born in Oakland, CA. It shut down the birther shit they are trying to hurl at her. I believe after 8 years of republikkklans using that smear on Obama, it has run out of steam, she put the lid on it.

It really surprised me that the republicans did not come out swinging when Biden announced her as his running mate. All they did was dust off the same ineffective shit they used against Obama.

It just now made me realize, she is at her most dangerous when she is calm, cool and collected. She landed several punches, with a smile on her face. If she had said "I know a predator when I see one" in a fiery speech republikkklans would have run with the "angry black woman" meme. They will try that anyhow, but against the backdrop of this speech it will fall flat.

The GOP haven't figured out a way to run against Momala and this speech sure didn't help them. Can't wait for the debates. She will chew pence up and spit him out before he even realizes what happened.

Edited in.

The speech also closed out the night with an uplifting positive speech.

Even though Obama's speech was terrific, closing the night out with that speech would have left people with a different emotion. He laid out the problems of life under trump, then Kamala took the stage with a path forward. Ending the night on a positive note.

trump would have traded it for Agrabah by now. Which would, by default, make Kamala ineligible to run for office.

*Agrabah is the fictional country that Aladdin is from. 45% of trump followers want to it bomb to protect Americans.

If the original schedule was done that way in deference to Obama (as a former President), it would only underscore a need to think about the problem with that when it comes to the party's focus on women and her historic presence on the national stage, and he obviously saw that disconnect regarding the scheduling and the need to allow her HER moment.

His speech precluded her speech and seamlessly led into hers. The stark reality between their message and what's currently going on is striking - 2 highly capable, intelligent leaders versus a nincompoop. No doubt it riled up the Idiot hence his rage-tweeting.
