a) it was 'their' money, and 'their people' that got scammed
b) Bannon is no longer revered as he was deemed not sufficiently part of the Trump Cult, and Trump fired him

but OTOH
a) It's the enemy: SDNY
b) it involves their beloved racist wall
c) Kolfage is a disabled vet, which they'll use (in this case at least) as a cudgel if they decide they're on the side of the criminals
d) they actually love lies and fraud and theft from gullible rubes ... after all, it's The Trump Way.
