https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/512938-trump-asks-supreme-court-to-let-him-block-critics-on-twitterThe Trump administration on Thursday asked the Supreme Court to reverse a lower court ruling that found President Trump violated the First Amendment by blocking his critics on Twitter.
The lawsuit arose in 2017 after Trumps social media account blocked seven people who had tweeted criticism of the president in comment threads linked to his @realDonaldTrump Twitter handle.
Lower federal courts found that Trumps twitter account, where he often weighs in on official matters, constitutes a public forum and that blocking his detractors violated their constitutional free speech protections.
In its Thursday petition to the Supreme Court, attorneys for the Justice Department (DOJ) urged the justices to overturn a unanimous ruling from a three-judge panel of the New York-based U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit against Trump.

IMHO - This 2-year's tantrums are getting old, and he knows he's headed for a massive "time out" in the pokey.

(32,017 posts)4. So long as Trump is President, he is the government.
When hes out of office, he should be able to block whomever he likes, but, for the time being, the First Amendment applies. The government shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech ... Political speech, in particular, is strictly guarded by the SCOTUS. Thats what our founders specifically sought to protect.
So far, the Courts have ruled correctly on this case, imo. Let us hope that trend continues.
