They are reportedly afraid of the unpredictability at Trump and GOP's event
Networks have been criticized for not 'fact checking' some Trump statements
Both conventions are to be virtual this year due to the coronavirus pandemic

But this year, TV executives reportedly told Democrats that they could not air two hours of the 2020 Democratic National Convention (DNC) nightly because they would then be required to give the same airtime to President Trump and the RNC.

They feared that doing so would bring levels of unpredictability from an editorial perspective, with one source telling The Daily Beast: 'We don't know what that content is going to be.'
