I think they missed the mark here. I don't think Trump's GOP is here to stay, although I do think the pre-Trump GOP is gone forever. If we're lucky, the GOP itself will go the way of the Whig Party and also be gone forever.

4. I think that the larger problem

is that the Republicans are not going to be able to shed the shadow of the Trump administration for years to come. They made their beds, it is up to us to see that that is where they have to sleep. The Republican Party could have gotten shed of Trump this year, but chose to ride it out, so **** them and the whores they rode in on.

Yes, the "party" has grown smaller, but what people lose sight of is that while the party literally stands for nothing other than spewing hyperbolic nonsense about us evil liberals, and people are not really voting FOR anything other than bigotry and hatred when they vote R, their decades of hate framing liberals still has 50% give or take of the country voting AGAINST Ds.

There is no "center" for these assholes. It is completely binary to 99% of them.
