The anti-Biden threads on Reddit are hilarious !!

They don't have much to work with !! Threads with titles like "Biden's speech was too short". I laughed so hard at that and so went into the thread and posted that if that's all they had, then those poor bastards had nuthin'. Not one poster has ever answered that. Other threads have been that Joe used to be touchy-feely - whereas I chime in with Creepy Trump videos and Pedo allegations. I've done this 50+ times and only one time did a fellow pedophile jump up to defend him. There is no defense for that either so I usually hear nothing further. Its a great stress reliever !

My point is that all their puny efforts are the result of having a p.o.s. to work with and the tone & fight in those posts are weak and waning. Sooo much fun to see! There's not much air left in the Trump campaign's balloon!

Biden is actually very popular on reddit. If you go to the general politics page https://www.reddit.com/r/politics/ you can see that nothing pro trump is positive. All of the popular threads are anti trump. You have to look for the new threads to find anything protrump.

It was also really clear in 2016 the russian bots took over reddit because out of nowhere donald trump posts became very popular. They seemed to have figured it out and it's not the case now.

Politics is overwhelmingly liberal Democrats. We all thought Biden's speech was fantastic. The best he's ever given.

Most of the negative posts you might see there are Russian bots or Trump trolls who come from the Conservative sub to start trouble. There are also some progressives who might be somewhat critical over some more moderate policies, but for the most part are on board with Biden.

there is always a megathread on the issue(s) of the day, and key top posters almost always have bullet point primers on key facts and takeaways, including links to sources and background info. it's an excellent source to get up to speed on an issue that you might not be 100% familiar with. trolls and bots get zero traction in that subreddit.

would do

Makes me wonder if they even listened to his speech

Biden made it clear with his policies would focus on. Job creation in green energy and infrastructure, eliminating student debt, expanding the ACA to make it truly affordable, Having experts as part of his administration to deal with health issues, and listening to those experts, rolling back the trump tax cuts that benefited the 1%, increasing taxes on corporations so they pay their fair share, etc.

There was quite a lot of policy statements in his speech for anyone who listened

The strategy of the republicans next week will be law and order. Of course what will be missing from that is the Civil Right abuses that have been occurring for decades at the hands of certain parts of law enforcement, and trump and the republicans embracing racist groups, and conspiracy theories

Trump, his campaign, Trump friendly media, and his minions online have put 7 months of effort in to create a narrative that Joe Biden's mental capacity had been diminished by age. Millions of Trump supporters tuned in expecting to see him bumble and stumble and look weak and ineffective. I can imagine how their hearts sank as the speech wore on and Joe raised his voice with passion and spoke from the heart and with great conviction and force.

They resorted to Sleepy Joe because nothing else they tested was working, now they're scrambling today, I guarantee it.

I have always considered myself a nice person. We Democrats and progressives need to make sure that folks know that decency is NOT a weakness.

I can't count the number of times in the past that I've heard stupid and disgusting rightwing Nazi bullshit, and made the choice to just let it go, ignore it, or think "those people are beyond hope, why waste my time".

I think that decision to "let it go" enabled those ignorant dipshits to create and enjoy some kind of crazy, hatefilled feedback loop.

If no one points out that you're a fucking idiot...if all you hear is validation of your ignorance and hate...if all you get is a "harrumph" on the bullshit you spew, it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. If no one tells you you're a dipshit... you never know that you are a dipshit.

See Hate Radio and Donnie Shit for Brains for a couple of disastrous examples.

If just one person had stood firmly as Donnie Dipshit threw the kitchen sink at them in a Court, the corrupt fuckstick would be in jail...NOT the White House.

I know it's not in most liberals and progressives DNA. We tend to be reasonable, rational and nice. And, it is true that you attract more flies with honey than with vinegar, and that it's important to "go high".

Here's the thing. You can be respectful and still push back.

We need to interrupt their feedback loop.

Thank you!

I urge everyone to pushback on wingnut authoritarian conservative bullshit everywhere you see it.

Please indulge me in an anecdotal story.

I was in the Navy for 28.5 years. The military is always depicted as "conservative or Retrumplican", but we truly are a microcosm of a diverse America. It's just that the right in the military are much more vocal. They rely on the bullhorn to be intimidating, and for years, folks like me didn't waste our time pushing back... and then one day I did... very forcefully. Shortly after that, a young Sailor approached me and said; "thanks for saying that Chief, I didn't realize there were folks here that thought like me".

I never went back to being silent again!
