The findings
Specifically, the committee said it found evidence that Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort may have been connected to the Russian operation to steal and leak Democratic emails. If that had been proven in court, it would have constituted "collusion," by any definition, but no such charge ever was brought. Manafort was convicted of fraud and tax charges unrelated to Russia.

(82,849 posts)Thank you all so very much, Senate Republicans. Every Republican defending a Senate seat this year needs to be asked - at every opportunity - why they left Trump in office and didn't allow even one witness at their trial.

(17,510 posts)this is all about saving their necks. Would this report ever have been released or contain these findings and admissions were Trump and their Senate majority not at high risk as they are now? I can see no other reason for the total inconsistency between their views and behavior during and leading up to the impeachment trial and these admissions now.
