I'm thinkin' the GOP is getting their collective arses kicked

politically and they adjourned Congress early so the incumbents can go back home and fight for their political lives. That's what I'm thinkin'.

There are projections showing Dems have a good chance to win back the House. The House Reps undoubtedly have internal polls from their members which indicate the same.

That's a very credible explanation why they are getting out of Dodge with apparent urgency.

I don't like conspiracy theories, but this makes sense.
