I must confess, I do not watch a lot of FOX News, but I doubt very much if they have reported on the comments by Trump's sister, Mary? She was secretly recorded making some rather unpleasant and damning comments about her brother Donald. More or less, she said he was an idiot, who had someone else take his tests for him in order to get into college. Also, she said he was cruel, that he is a phony with no principles. She said he could not be trusted.
Will FOX News report that?
Also, Republicans on the Senate Intel Committee finally released their report on the Russian investigation. They did not find a "hoax". But, they did ascertain that Paul Manafort, the Trump Campaign Chairman, was handing over inside campaign information to a Russian agent. Also, they discovered that Trump knew about the communications of Roger Stone with Wikileaks and the Russians. Any other time and that story would have been earth-shaking.
But, has FOX News said anything about it?
If not, there are a lot of blind sheep walking around dangerously close to the edge of the cliff.

(9,263 posts)unlike previous elections where too many democrats simple stay on their asses instead of being involved, getting registered and voting, we are now motivated by anger of all things trump and all things GOP.
If ignorant republicans like their ignorance, who gives a fuck?

Those are the "middle" that both sides fight for.

(111,092 posts)It doesn't take many to swing the election one way or the other, in my opinion.

(42,700 posts)You vastly overestimate how many different people watch Fox News.
Their biggest ratings getters -- Hannity and Carlson -- combined don't get as many viewers as ABC Nightly does on its own. And while ABC, NBC and CBS nightly news don't have any overlap in viewership, the viewership of various FOX News programs contains a substantial overlap of the same views, so you can't just add the viewers of Hannity and Carlson and the other various "news" programs on Fox.

(12,697 posts)that is not a large portion of Americans .

(111,092 posts)Is that a large portion? It's difficult to argue that all those that do not watch FOX are on the same page as you or I? I would not make that assumption.

(111,092 posts)I do not think that ABC has the same type of political programming, or the same propaganda content within their news? I could be wrong.

(111,092 posts)and how they have a larger viewing audience? I was responding to your point, not trying to change the subject. My bad.

(9,069 posts)...even if the Fox viewers are a smaller number, Fox just needs to control the group that influence the electoral college.
I suspect that the Archie Bunkers who manage to win the toss up races are heavily Fox, and only watch Fox.
In that sense, the OP is correct.

(7,397 posts)having propaganda for background noise all day is quite different than looking at ratings (ABC, CBS, NBC) for a particular time period, in terms of what effect that network has on its viewers. I think the OP has a point in that regard.
