A bit of normalcy returns...




A throwback to life in old NY, this guy has been driving around Brooklyn for 40 years. When people hear his bell they bring out their knives to be professionally sharpened on the spot. Hadn't seen him since lockdown started and my knives were getting a lot more use...

We used to have something similar in my neighborhood when I was a kid (eons ago). Happy to see that this vocation has not entirely died out. Also reminds me to check with the knife place in the City to pick up a couple of nice kitchen knives along with having my carving set sharpened.
