Oh, great: NASA says an asteroid is headed our way right before Election Day

(CNN) Well, 2020 keeps getting better all the time.

Amid a pandemic, civil unrest and a divisive US election season, we now have an asteroid zooming toward us.

On the day before the presidential vote, no less.

Yep. The celestial object known as 2018VP1 is projected to come close to Earth on November 2, according to the Center for Near Earth Objects Studies at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. It was first identified at Palomar Observatory in California in 2018.

"Asteroid 2018VP1 is very small, approximately 6.5 feet, and poses no threat to Earth. If it were to enter our planet's atmosphere, it would disintegrate due to its extremely small size," NASA said in a statement. "NASA has been directed by Congress to discover 90% of the near-Earth asteroids larger than 140 meters (459 feet) in size and reports on asteroids of any size."

NASA says that, "based on 21 observations spanning 12.968 days," the agency has determined the asteroid probably -- phew! -- won't have a deep impact, let alone bring Armageddon. The chance of it hitting us is just 0.41%, data show. CNN has reached out NASA for any additional or updated information but has not heard back. (Read More)

Its strange outer space radiation will mutant the Covid virus so instead of making people ill it changes them into flesh hungry ghouls. While h'es being devoured by what used to the press corp in their briefing room, Trump's last screamed utterance will be "Democrat Hoax!"

Just enough to make things real interesting for those that aren't changed. Changing everyone would be too quick and relatively merciful for 2020.

And glanced over at a lovely plot with a bench to sit on, a small statue of the virgin Mary and some flowers. It was a nice single plot with nothing surrounding it for a good 30 feet.

Alongside the headstone there was a huge flag flying. The size you usually fly in front of your home on a flag pole.

It was a Trump 2020 Maga flag.

I feel sorry for anyone who has a loved one in a plot there. My Gawd that was tacky.

I would make a huge stink about politicizing the place! Even though I don't visit that town or the cemetery very often I would NOT want to see that anywhere near my relatives.

It has a .41% chance of hitting Earth. Meaning it has a 99.59% chance of missing.

More importantly,

"If it were to enter our planet's atmosphere, it would disintegrate due to its extremely small size,"

You need to worry a fuck of a lot more about almost anything else.
