Sr. Rep. Congressional aide: "Owning the libs and pissing off the media. That's what we believe..."

“Owning the libs and pissing off the media,” shrugs Brendan Buck, a longtime senior congressional aide and imperturbable party veteran if ever there was one. “That’s what we believe in now. There’s really not much more to it.”

Of course, we all knew that's all the R's believe in now, that and greed.

"The supposed canons of GOP orthodoxy—limited government, free enterprise, institutional conservation, moral rectitude, fiscal restraint, global leadership—have in recent years gone from elastic to expendable."

Limited Government: Read that as opposition to every action that assist the working class. Anti-union, anti-free press, anti-progressive assistance programs for the poor, children and anyone in need, Their idea of conservatism is support for radical religious charlatans who want to impose their beliefs on everyone without exception. Their moral rectitude is a total joke. It is the right to discriminate against homosexuals and minorities. Their idea of fiscal restraint is padding the wallets of the wealthy and cutting program for the less fortunate. Their concept of global leadership is justification for starting wars to aid the arms industry on which the own the stock. It all boils down to enriching the entitled and bilking the working class.

of NO fear on what democrats can do as we have seen with ignoring subpoenas and democrats refusal to do all they can to enforce compliance. You have to step outside OUR BUBBLE and look at stuff thru the eyes of the trump supporter. Trump has delivered all thats been promised and more as he simply changes the promises at will and his supporters could care less.

"We" get "outrage" but the facts are, trump has ran wild and free with little repercussions to date or even less concerns about 60% of America who hate him.

“You know I don’t have a history of dodging questions. But I don’t know how to answer that. There is no consistent philosophy,” Luntz responded. “You can’t say it’s about making America great again at a time of Covid and economic distress and social unrest. It’s just not credible.”

Luntz thought for a moment. “I think it’s about promoting—” he stopped suddenly. “But I can’t, I don’t—” he took a pause. “That’s the best I can do.”

Some Republicans don’t want to see the wheels coming off and therefore insist that everything is fine; others are not only comfortable with the chaos but believe it to be their salvation. In either case, these groups are the minority. Most of the party’s governing class sees perfectly well what is going on. They know exactly how bad things are and how much worse they could yet be. Even as they attempt to distract from the wreckage, redirecting voters’ gaze toward those dastardly Democratic socialists and reminding them of the binary choice before them, these Republicans rue their predicament but see no way out of it. Like riders on a derailing rollercoaster, they brace for a crash but dare not get off.

It”s a bit scary hearing adults behave like children in the throes of puberty. It’s like being back in junior high school where bullies and mean girls ruled the roost. Except these are alleged adults who apparently never mentally aged beyond 12. Yikes!

Division among the populace is the core objective of the ultra wealthy so they can keep us blindly occupied with jobs and consumerism while being fearful of our neighbors. In other words, community is the enemy of our corporate world and the Democratic Party believes in community. Therefore, we are the enemy. When divided, people are easily controlled.

That philosophy is cleverly promoted through right-wing media and think tanks by designating us Democrats as "the other" or "the enemy" for decades on talk radio and Faux News to the point that now, around a third of Americans are thoroughly brainwashed.

They've used every emotional tool in the right-wing fascist playbook to achieve that goal including gun ownership, racial issues, women's rights, hatred of government and taxes and faux patriotism.

I honestly have little long-term hope for our Nation and many others like the UK unless we can drastically reduce asset and income inequality around the globe.

To date, that inequality is only getting worse day by day.

KY rant done for Monday.....

Since Trump wants to emulate dictators like Putin, he has to fashion the nation in Putin's image. Putin promotes despair in his people so that they have less motivation to push for a change in leadership. If he can repress them harshly enough, they'll just give up and let him rule- and collect billions of their tax dollars for himself and the oligarchs.

This is Trump's model. He wants to Russiafy the US. Ruining the USPS, destroying Social Security, killing the ACA-- all of it is to make the US into a version of Russia.

The divide has reached a state where active dislike has turned into active hatred. I can speak for myself only, but prior to Trump I cannot say that I hated Republicans. I thought their policies were backward and stupid, but I did not see them as evil people bent on destroying everything good about this country. That all changed with Trump and the way his supporters leaped at the excuse to be just like him. I despise Trump and everything he stands for. He and his supporters are evil people.

Republicans hate us just as much. It may take a few years, but if this deliberate stoking of hatred and anger continues, I do not see the how the US avoids a civil war or perhaps a negotiated divorce. I moved to Texas for a job years ago. I’m retired now, but if I weren’t, I would no longer even consider moving to a red state for work. We really are two totally different sets of people with beliefs that do not agree.

the billionaires can rule.

Of course, the grunts who most rabidly want to "own the libs" don't understand that THEY are being impoverished as well. Or, perhaps they don't care due to the belief that whatever suffering they endure is not nearly as bad as the suffering that "the libs" must endure. So, it's worth the cost.

Go figure. It's all part of the Russiafication of the US. And Trump gets his instructions on a regular basis from Putin.
